Judul : POTENSI ANTIBAKTERI TERHADAP Escherichia coli DAN Staphylococcus aureus DAN IDENTIFIKASI SENYAWA EKSTRAK HEKSANA BANDOTAN (Ageratum conyzoides L.) Tri
Abstrak :

Bandotan (Ageratum conyzoides L.) is a weed plant that is often destroyed, but there is a group of people who use this plant as a traditional medicine that can cure some kinds of diseases such as scab lesions on the skin, malaria, influenza, pneumonia, tumors, and rheumatoid drug. This study aims to identify the substances present in the hexane extract bandotan and test antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli. Bandotan herb extracted with hexane using maceration method. Maceration is done in a closed vessel for 24 hours and occasional stirring. Maceration process is performed three times the volume of 500 mL. Hexane extract was concentrated with a rotary evaporator and phytochemical testing includes group alkaloids, saponins, tannins, triterpenoids steroids and flavonoids. Bandotan hexane extract tested antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli with a paper disc method and analyzed its chemical compounds by Gas Chromatography-mass spectrophotometry (GC-MS). The results showed that the content of the extract yield 10.01%, 8.41% moisture content, and the hexane extract contains compounds bandotan alkaloids, triterpenoids-steroids and flavonoids. Antibacterial activity with a diameter of inhibition (DDH) against S. aureus and E. coli 29.6 mm 12.4 mm making it more susceptible to S. aureus (gram positive bacteria) compared with E. coli (gram negative bacteria). Component compounds contained in the bandotan hexane extract among others kariofilen, isokariofilen, ageratokromen, demetoksiageratokromen, 6-vinyl-7methoxy-2,2-dimetilkromen, coumarin, dichloroacetic acid, 1-heptadekanol, and 7-ethyl-6methyl 5-metiltiopirazolo [1,5-a] pyrimidine. These compounds are thought to compound that acts as an antibacterial agent.
