Judul : THE EFFECTIVENESS OF INQUIRY BASED PRACTICUM METHOD TO IMPROVE LEARNING RESULTS SCIENCE PROCESS SKILLS BIOLOGY EDUCATION STUDENTS
Abstrak :

This study aims to determine the differences in Science Process Skills (Keterampilan Proses Sains) between students who use inquiry-based practicum methods and those who use demonstration-based practical methods. The research design used was a pretest-posttest control group design (Sugiyono, 2012). The independent variable used is the learning method. The experimental class used the inquiry-based practicum method, while the control class used the demonstration practicum method. The dependent variable is the science process skills of the 3rd semester students of the Biology Education Study Program in the Animal Anatomy class. The focus of the material in this class is Mammalia Animals. The number of samples in this study are 40 respondents from two classes taken by purposive random sampling technique. Class A is for group of students who use inquiry-based practicum methods, and Class B is for group of students who use demonstration-based practical methods. The results showed that the science process skills of the group who used the inquiry-based practicum method were different than the group who used the demonstration-based practicum method. This is shown from the ANOVA calculation results that is obtained by the value of F count = 3.26726, and when it is compared with the value of F table (0.05) of 2.7981, then F count is bigger than F table (F hitung > F tabel). It means that Science Process Skills with inquiry-based practicum methods is more effective than demonstration-based practicum methods.
