Judul : KUALITAS BATUAN ANDESIT GUNUNG CIPINANG, DESA MEKARSARI KECAMATAN CIKALONG KULON - KABUPATEN CIANJUR - JAWA BARAT SEBAGAI BAHAN BAKU KONTRUKSI DASAR
Abstrak :

Abstract

Research on andesite rocks in the Gunung Cipinang area, Mekarsari Village, Cikalong Kulon District, Cianjur Regency, West Java Province aims to determine the quality of andesite rocks found in the research area which can be used as raw material for basic infrastructure construction.

The research method used petrographic analysis and rock engineering analysis by testing the rock resistance using UCS (Uniaxial Compressive Strength). Petrographic analysis is carried out to determine the quality of andesite based on its constituent minerals, while the analysis of the compressive strength of the rock is carried out to determine the rock engineering properties that will affect its use.

The results of petrographic analysis show that the igneous andesite rocks in the study area are composed of minerals that have a good resistance level. The results of the andesite rock compressive strength test on the sample code (LP1) were 1570,50 kg/cm2; sample code (LP2) of 2160,20 kg/cm2; and the sample code (LP3) is 1384,10 kg/cm2; sample code (LP-4) is 1970,40 kg/cm2 and the sample code (LP-5) of 1890,70. Based on the compressive strength value, rock units are classified as very strong with an average compressive strength value of 1492,67  kg/cm2.

Based on the quality requirements of natural stone for building materials (SNI 03-0394-1989), andesite in the research area can be used as building foundation material, curbstone, floor covering, and pillars in construction activities. Based on Indonesian Industrial Standards (SII 0378-80), andesite in the study area can also be used as a building material for road construction concrete.
