Abstrak | : | Abstract: The aims of this studyis to find outthe influence of visualization media to enhance concepts understanding and critical thinking skills oj vocational students. This research used Quasi Experiment design with pretest-posttest non-equivalent control group design. The research was conducted in one oj vocational school in Bandung, West Java in the academic year 2010/2011. The subjects consisted oj experimental and control groups. The experimental group is a class XI( (33 students), while the control class is a class XII (31 students): Sampling was conducted by random cluster sampling technioue. To obtain the necessary data, used the instrument were multiple choice test, questionnaire and interview sheet. -eosea on the result, revealed that ttievisuatization media enhanced students' concepts understanding and critical thinking skilfs. The overoqescore of the experimental classN-Gain (55.40%) is higher than thecontrol closs(43.39%). Visualization mediahove significant effect on students' concepts understanding of isomers dan sielic hydrocarbon and students'criticot thinking skills of Qsking andansweringquestionsofclarificotionandchallenge. In addition, based on the responses oj students and teachers as well as the onatysis showed that visualization media is positively responded by students and make students enthusiastic in studying oj hydrocarbon.
