Abstrak | : | Building collapse that occurred mostly caused by structure failure in containment earthquake load, especially column element. Factors that lead to the failure of the column, among others is column planning that does not calculate ductility or restraint, resulting decline of column performance. One way to improve column strength and ductility are to retrofit the column by wrapping columns using ferro-cement. Research aims to discover the increase amount of axial load capacity from concrete column that has been retrofitted using fine-mesh. Experimental tests carried out on seven short column specimen with a square cross-section sized 120x120 mm and 600 mm high. Column test object are given axial load concentric with variations in loading rate 60%, 70%, and 80% of the maximum axial load. Then, column is retrofitted by being covered with ferro-cement, after that column are given axial load up to collapse. From the test results, column are obtained increased capacity in axial load after being retrofitted in the amount of 34.96%, 28.17%, and 22.87% with variations loading rate in 60%, 70%, and 80%. |
